Mr. Sok Sotha

SOK Sotha, a lead founder and currently is a Chief Executive of the Cambodian Farmer Federation Association of Agricultural Producers (CFAP Cambodia), a Member of the Global Farmers’ Forum Steering Committee Global FAFO SC, an Executive Team of the Agroecology Alliance in Southeast Asia (ALiSEA) in charge in policy for Cambodia and member of the Cambodia Conservation Agriculture and Sustainable Intensification Consortium (CASIC) Core Team.

Sotha was a former member of the National Program Steering Committee for IFAD/MEF in Cambodia, Board member of Agroecology Alliance in South East Asia (ALiSEA) on Policy Dialogue for Cambodia, and Board Director of the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) for Asian Constituency. He experienced about 19 years on education with a private school (1993-2012) and more than 20 years with farmers’ organizations and cooperatives. He coordinates to establish farmers’ organizations and agricultural cooperatives for farmers, coordinate in contract farming development and market value chains to engage private sector with agricultural cooperatives/POs for collective sales and purchases. He experiences in policy dialogue and participation to protect the interests of farmers, especially smallholders and the rural community.

In 2010 he pioneered to synergize amongst farmers’ organizations in Cambodia to work together and building the first national farmers’ organization platform network in history which the country has ever had before.

He focuses mainly on building a vocational skills and education for youth, raising awareness on climate change, building the capacity of farmers’ organization, agricultural cooperatives, youth and women, advocating for farmers  and the rural people to have better policies that benefit the rural farming communities and their livelihoods.
