The Conference of Parties (COP) 27 held in Sharm El Sheikh of Egypt from 06 – 18 November, 2022. Sotha Sok, a founder and managing director of the Cambodian Farmer Federation Association of Agricultural Producers (CFAP Cambodia) and Board member of the World Farers’ Organization for Asia was invited to attend the COP 27.
There were 33, 449 participants participated in the events, 16,118 delegates from the parties, 13,981 observers and 3,350 people represent media from around the world. During the COP27, more than 100 farmer leaders represented the World Farmers’ Organisation at the COP 27. The World Farmers’ Organisation also organized 04 official plenary sessions and spoke at 40 events.
The COP27 brought together strong voices on climate change and sustainable agriculture with resilience. Amongst the side events – Ocean an Land Day “Technology and Finance”, Sotha talked about the finance to ensure that farmers get access to direct finance, capacity building for youth, women and indigenous people, strong market structure from farm to market, minimizing gap amongst the stakeholder through strengthening the Public, Private, Producer Partnership and digitalization.
